The Heathlands Summer Project 2011
This year the summer project will be called Universal. The theme will be space in all its meanings and it will run over the first two weeks in August, with two mini festival days open to the public on the 12th & 13th. Wildlife and Gardening school visits will run throughout the year on site. School that have visited so far in 2011- Burgh By Sands School Brook Street School Wreay School Raughton Head School Upperby School St Margaret Mary School James Rennie School Summerdale School Newlaithes Infants School St Michael's School (Dalston) PTV Richard Rose School Rockcliffe School Great Orton School Houghton School Yewdale School So far this year 897 children have visited The Heathlands Project through the school Wildlife and Gardening visits alone.

Big Draw With Rockcliff School - 30th September every Friday morning until the 29th October The Heathlands Project Art staff and members working with school children as part of our Big Draw Event. Creating Yewdale Schools Gardens - 25th-29th July The Heathlands Projects Horticultural staff and members working with DART and Yewdale School creating gardens. Rockcliffe School Fait - 9th July The Heathlands Project running a Stall and badge making activities. Helping Hands - 6th July The Heathlands Project Helping Hands Group went to Wigton and helped an LD person to clear up their gardens. Culture Bazzaar - 3rd July The Heathlands Project running a Stall and badge making activities. Raughton Head Garden Art - 1st July The Heathlands Project Art staff and members working with Raughton Head school to create art work for their gardens. Great Orton Tree Plant - 8th February The Heathlands Project Horticultural staff and members working with Great Orton School to plant trees and take part in willow work with (KS1). St Bedes Garden Art - 24th January-4th April The Heathlands Project Art staff and members working every Monday afternoon with St Bedes School children, designing art work for their quiet area. Events 2010 The Peoples Millions 2010 - All Together Now On the 22nd November we took part in Border Televisions The People's Millions. All entries had to compete for votes on Border Television. Out of eight worthy causes 5 received the money that they asked for, luckily The Glenmore Trust was one of the five.
