Past and Future of Heathlands

Here are some pictures of what the farm looked like when we first moved here.

Heathlandsold

Here is a photograph of the outside of our farm house before any work took place to make it suitable for our use.

Heathlands2

This is what the farm yard looked like when we first got on site at Heathlands With a camera.

In this picture you can see the old falling down building we nicknamed "The L Shaped Building" for obvious reasons. This building has been demolished and is now the site of the new "Art Shack" a purpose built log cabin for arts.

Heathlands4

Here you can see inside the old dairy building. This building will be the site for our purpose built training rooms which are planned to be ready in 2011.

As you can see from these photos we had a lot of work to do in the farm house before we could move in. Currently the farm house is used for offices upstairs and catering downstairs, with seating areas in two of the downstairs rooms. We have also added disabled access toilets and shower room downstairs. In 2010 we plan to have a conservatory built onto the kitchen, this will be used as a café seating area for the public to use when they come to visit.

This was the view from a upstairs window overlooking the farm yard.

If you have been to Heathlands lately you will find this hard to believe, this is a photo of the area at Heathlands which now situates The Polly-tunnels, The Chickens, The Ducks, The Horticulture Department, The Sculpture park and the ponds. I hope you will agree that it is hardly recognisable as the same area? This transformation is due to the endless hard work put in by our family at The Heathlands Project.
