More About Heathlands
The Heathlands Project is a Not For Profit Charitable Trust part of The Glenmore Trust, any surplus income is reinvested in the project. The project was set up in 2006 at the Heathlands farm site at Harker Road Ends, which was then in a semi derelict state. The project is growing and developing very quickly
We currently cater for over 50 members who are local people with disabilities which choose to attend the project. The Project currently offers the following activities:
•IT and Graphics
•Radio Heathlands
•Music
•Film making and photography
•Heathlands Committee
•Catering (cooking skills)
•Come Dine with me
•Art and crafts – varied activities
•Horticulture – varied activities
•Construction and maintenance team
•Admin skills – one person one day per week
•Supported work/volunteering placements - various
•Various visits and visiting speakers
•Map reading, walking, and guides
•Open College Network Certificate - Horticulture
•Open College Network Certificate - Art
•Open College Network Certificate – Enterprise skills
•Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
•Person Centred Planning Course
•ASDAN courses
•My life your job
•One person 1:1 – GCSE Eng and Maths
•One person 2:1 2 x mornings per week computer course •ASDAN
